Quick sketches from today's lunch break drawing session. I'll post something less boring soon, maybe.

Some people chill, watch TV, have a beer after work. Instead, I draw turtles...

An unfinished doodle of a lady I saw when I got lost on my lunch break. God bless Google maps.

Big Hero 6 is finally out, too bad us lot in the UK can't see it until next year! THANKS A BUNCH DISNEY.

A bunch of quick doodles drawn on my phone when I'm too embarrassed to get my sketchbook out! Got around 50 more of these things, so I thought I'd chuck a few on here to free up space on my phone.
These are all from October and range from queuing in Costa, on the train, waiting for the train, cursing loudly on the platform when your train is cancelled... etc.

I was practising quick gesture drawings on my lunch break...then Korra happened.

This is what I see every single day going to work. My sketchbooks are filled, page after page with people hunched over their phones playing games or checking Facebook. Get off your phones people! Read a book or something and think of the poor artists who want to draw you :(

Trains all day, everyday! So more of these dull things, sorry! Next weeks post will be a 'everyone's on their bloody phone' special.

Long time no post! I'm still drawing, just nothing I'm allowed to show! Buuuut, here are a bunch of quick doodles I managed to get done on my nightmare train journeys this week!

Also, for those interested, I tend to post a lot more drawings up on my Instagram than I do on here.

From rough sketch to colours, a detective I drew today for no reason in particular!

Several weeks ago, I ended up watching Game of Thrones to see what all the fuss was about.  Needless to say, I'm hooked! So, here is my attempt at one of my favourite characters, Jon Snow. Used this as a chance to experiment with a few brushes I made.

"Did you miss me?"

Last but not least, Moriarty! Very nearly gave up on this one due to corrupt files which this project seemed to be cursed with.
Despite that, this was my favourite project I've ever done in Uni and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but now its over with, I can go back to patiently waiting for season four...

What Matters Most

Here's Molly Hooper! A morgue registrar who has a thing for high-functioning sociopaths and Sherlock's love interest..? [citation needed]
I wasted five pages in my sketchbook just trying to figure out how lab coats work. Still haven't got the hang of it. Anyway, only one character left! And hopefully it won't take me well over a month to post it.

Ultimate Image

For part of our Business module we had to create an 'Ultimate Image' that basically sums up who you are and what you do.
The idea behind mine is that I am my own worst critic, so what better than to have my own creations mocking me! At least, thats what it started out as anyway.

This was pretty fun to do, revisiting old characters (a cringe worthy trip down memory lane) that I drew waaaay back in first year and seeing how much I've progressed. Wish I had more time on this but for now its done!

"Mrs. Hudson took my skull!"

At last, I have finally found a purpose for my bingo drawings, in the form of Mrs. Hudson!
Not much to say on this one, just that I was heavily influenced by my caricatured sketches of old ladies while still attempting to maintain some similarities to her character in the show.

Elementary, my dear Bilbo

Watson was the very first character I sketched out and his roughed out design on the second page ended up unintentionally having an influence over the rest of the characters in terms of stylisation. Sherlock takes the place of my favourite character in the show, but John was by far my fave to draw in this project.

Who's the next character? Well, she's certainly not your housekeeper...

Sherlock Collaboration

Apologies for the lack of updates...again. As you can see I've been busy working on a new project! Currently I'm nearing the end of a collaboration with a friend of mine where we have been hard at work redesigning BBC's Sherlock.
I only started watching this show a week prior to this project, so to say that this was a challenge is a vast understatement. Keep an eye out as I'll be posting up the rest of the characters over the next few weeks or so, but to start, here's the consulting detective himself!

Also, be sure to check out my friends blog to see more Sherlock concepts from her side of the collab!

Not sure which I regret more, this colouring style or that chocolate bar I just ate. That's my new years resolution out the window. Anyway, enough turnarounds for now, action poses are way more fun to draw! Also, behold my god-awful doodles, this is how most of my work starts before I re-draw and colour...

Turnaround bright eyes

Next character! This dude went through a never-ending amount of changes before I was happy with his design. I'm not very good at turnarounds sorry, also slowly starting to regret colouring it this way since it takes sooooooo long to do.
mfw I have to do two more of these things ugh.
